Math 141 Spring 2014 Final Exam Notes

What to Bring:

Bring lots of pencils, pens, erasers, a basic scientific (non-graphing) calculator, a watch, a ruler, and your student ID. Do not bring scrap paper as it will be provided. Cell phones, music players and other electronic devices must be put away during the exam and may not be used as clocks. Also, packs and bags must be placed at the front of the room during the exam, so avoid bringing valuables with you to the exam.

You may use a single letter-size double-sided "cheat-sheet" for the final exam. The cheat-sheet must be handwritten and may contain formulae, facts, definitions and theorems, however your cheat sheet must not contain worked examples. Your cheat sheet must be handed in with your exam.

Topics and Extra Practice:

The final exam is comprehensive, and so may include any material covered since the first day of the course. Please read over these Final Exam Notes.

To prepare for the final you should review the practice material suggested for the four class tests and also work through the assigned homework which was not included on Test 4. In addition I recommend that you work through the Spring 2013 Final Exam (solutions).

Note: You should expect questions involving the three applications we covered in the last two weeks of the course: curve fitting, least squares, and eigenvalules/eigenvectors. These topics do no appear on the practice Spring 2013 final exam, however we spent more time on that material this year and so you should be prepared for questions on those topics.
