Welcome to the BIOMET Research Laboratory of Vancouver Island University.

Through applied and fundamental research projects encompassing local, regional and national scales, our main objective is to increase our understanding of the biological and meteorological processes regulating the exchange of greenhouse gases between natural and managed terrestrial ecosystems, as well as urban landscapes, and the atmosphere. Working in close collaboration with our government, university and industrial partners, we aim to develop and apply novel measurement technologies to reduce the uncertainty in estimating the greenhouse gas budget of Canada and the world.
