Student Presentation Information

The purpose of the presentation is to explain the connections of your research findings for your final essay to the class.  In the presentation you are NOT to explain your topic, the sources for your research, or where you found your sources.  All of that information about the thesis of the essay, research, sources, and conclusions is to be contained in the two page synopsis which is handed out to the rest of the class the week prior to your presentation.  The presentation is NOT to repeat what is in the handout.  For the presentation the assumption is made that the rest of the class knows all the basics of your topic from the synopsis.

The objective of the presentation is to discuss the links that your research and conclusions has with the wider body of material this term.  How and where precisely does your paper fit in with what we have read or discussed this term?  How does your paper further our understanding of the topic?

The mark allotted for the presentation will take into account the synopsis distributed to the class, the depth and sophistication of the linkages that you provide in your presentation, and the overall presentation style (ie clarity, etc.).
