  1. "Easy Rider contains within it an expression of everything the counterculture represented, or was believed to represent, at the end of the 1960s."  Evaluate this contention in the context of the movie.  In doing so, make careful and specific notes of language, imagery, values expressed, and other details to support your analysis.
  2. "The death of Peter Fonda at the end of the movie is merely a metaphor for the death of the counter culture and the youth rebellion of the 1960s"  Discuss.
  3.  If The Wild One is said to represent the beginning of a cycle of youth rebellion movies, how is Easy Rider the culmination of that cycle?

  4. Taking into account the differences of cinema, audience, etc., which separate The Wild One and Easy Rider, how does the image of youth rebellion presented in each movie compare?  How has the image of  America portrayed in each movie changed?  How has that image stayed the same?
