  1. In what manner can Lambert's work be considered revisionist?
  2. Lambert argues that Whitefield's success was dependent on the "...appropriation of new commercial techniques...."  What were those 'techniques' and how did they contribute to his success?
  3. Lambert's article fails to tell us much about religion in connection with the Great Awakening.  He does however tell us much about the nature of 18th century society.  What specifically can we learn about society at that time from Lambert's examination of Whitefield?
  4. Based on Dowd's work, what was the relationship of 'revival' and the social/political conditions affecting the tribes?
  5. What was the relationship between revival and native identity?  How does the imperial presence factor into this?
