Lab 2: Compare Two Root Diseases

 

Choose a location (coast, n. interior, s. interior) and, in your own words, write a summary, in point form (3-4 pages), that compares two root diseases.  Any combination is valid except Armillaria and Phellinus.

 

Categories to include:

be sure to make it clear what species are most susceptible and which are useful as an alternate crop for a diseased site

address susceptibility (hazard & risk) as it relates to ecosystem (and tree age & vigour)

factors important regarding management (i.e. 'know your enemy's strengths & weakness')

bullet

Signs and Symptoms
bullet

be clear as to what s&s they have in common and which are diagnostic

you should supply both text and images

bullet

Management Options

should be the 'latest thinking' - i.e. merge guidebook, SEDA's and other sources

bullet

feel free to highlight changes in thinking

 

Your classmates are your target audience in this case.  Assume your buddy has been away and needs this information to study for the midterm.
