St. Petersburg. April 13. This Ministry has just received news of Captain Billings, charged with furthering Russian discoveries in the South Sea [Pacific Ocean]. During the year of 1790, this navigator passed through the Kuril and Aleutian Islands, on which he found various new plants suitable for human consumption and, taking advantage of this useful discovery, collected them for cultivation in some region of our extended dominions.
