Welcome to my Web Quest.
This project has been designed to introduce and encourage young children to use technology as one method of gathering, organizing, and representing information. The program has been set out in a simple and non threatening manner whenever possible. The students are only sent to particular, appropriate web sites - to avoid confusion and disillusionment.
The process that has been designed offers a challenging, guided opportunity, to use technology in the late primary classroom. This Web Quest has been designed specifically for my special Grade 3 class as they begin their exploration of space and technology.
This Web Quest has been designed to include both cooperative and individual work. This Web Quest addresses numerous skills:
~brainstorming

~cooperative skills
~creative development
~internet skills
~computer skills
~graphic organizing skills
~record keeping skills
~accountability
On several occasions throughout
the project, students are asked to check with their teacher before they
continue. This will ensure that the students stay on track and that
the teacher can monitor their progress consistently and effectively.

Adaptations and Extension
Adaptations: This project has been designed to include several cooperative learning opportunities. This will ensure that the students who are unsure of themselves, or who need extra help, work with others. Depending on the student's individual needs, this project could be adapted in several ways, for example, the student may wish to share their knowledge orally. It is essential that the teacher is available to assist those who are having difficulties. This project could be overwhelming, however, breaking down steps, adapting to individual needs, and working together will help ensure success.
Extensions: There are many, many ways that this project could be extended.
