You will have to follow several steps very carefully to make sure that you make the best decision.
After each step it is important that you check with the teacher before continuing.  When it is time to check with your teacher you will see this symbol:

STEP #1
INSPIRATION WEBBING

Before you can begin to choose a destination for your field trip you must decide what planetary characteristics will be important to you.
Using INSPIRATION, work with 3-4 others to brainstorm these ideas.

You should have a collection of ideas that will help guide your research about Venus, Jupiter, and Mars.
Some things you may want to think about:

Step#2
RESEARCH TABLE

Now you will work with your small group to begin to organize your research about Venus, Jupiter, and Mars.
You will be collecting a lot of information. You need to organize that information clearly.  A great way to do this is to use a TABLE.

REMEMBER to add at least two more research categories to the ideas shown on this table.  You should complete one table per group.

Step #3

Now it is time to begin your research....
LET'S GO!!

You will record the information that you collect on your group's table.

You will need to collect information on:

MARS

JUPITER

VENUS

Step #4
Group Collaboration
 

Now you have collected information about Mars, Jupiter and Venus.
Review your table and discuss the information that you have collected with your group.
Your group will work cooperatively to decide which planet would be the best for a field trip.
Discuss, collaborate, communicate, work together!!
Remember, the only correct answer is the one that is backed up by the information that you collected.


The spaceship is ready to go.  It is time to decide....

Kid Pix Poster for NASA

It is now time for you to work individually to create a poster for NASA.  You need to let NASA know which planet you have chosen.
