You will have to follow several
steps very carefully to make sure that you make the best decision.
After each step it is important
that you check with the teacher before continuing. When it is time
to check with your teacher you will see this symbol:
You can look at an EXAMPLE of each step to help you along the way.
The CRITERIA is outlined for you too.
Work together and have fun!!
Your
participation is essential.
Before
you can begin to choose a destination for your field trip you must decide
what planetary characteristics will be important to you.
Using
INSPIRATION, work with 3-4 others to brainstorm these ideas.
| Example |
You
should have a collection of ideas that will help guide your research about
Venus, Jupiter, and Mars.
Some
things you may want to think about:
|
|
|
|
Now you will work with your
small group to begin to organize your research about Venus, Jupiter, and
Mars.
You will be collecting a
lot of information. You need to organize that information clearly.
A great way to do this is to use a TABLE.
You can click here to see
an example -
| Example |
REMEMBER to add at least two more research categories to the ideas shown on this table. You should complete one table per group.
Stop and check.
Now
it is time to begin your research....
LET'S
GO!!
You will record the information that you collect on your group's table.
You will need to collect information on:
| MARS |
|
|
Now
you have collected information about Mars, Jupiter and Venus.
Review
your table and discuss the information that you have collected with your
group.
Your
group will work cooperatively to decide which planet would be the best
for a field trip.
Discuss,
collaborate, communicate, work together!!
Remember,
the only correct answer is the one that is backed up by the information
that you collected.
