INTRODUCTION TO WEBQUEST: |
Sightings of a monster in Scotland's
Loch Ness go back centuries! There are many people who will tell you that
without a doubt the Loch Ness Monster exists. These people point to eyewitness
accounts of sightings and photographs of the monster, as evidence. At the
same time, there are many people who will say the monster is not real,
that it is just a hoax or figment of peoples imaginations. These people
ask: Why has the monster never been found? So, what do you think? Could
there really a monster in Loch Ness? Or is Nessie
just a hoax? Could Nessie be something
other than a monster? You decide!

This web quest involves a critical
thinking challenge. Your ultimate task will be to decide if the Loch Ness
monster could really exist! Before you arrive at your conclusion you will
explore the phenomenon of the Loch Ness Monster in some detail. This exploration
is designed to be both challengingand
fun. With your exploration complete
your task is to write a short essay on the possibility of there being a
monster (Nessie) in Loch Ness. The Webquest is completed by participating
in an international on-line voting poll on the Loch Ness Monster. Good
