Teacher's
Page
This webquest
has been designed for grades 6 and 7.
Extensions:
-
Students will
locate other members of the class who focused on the same invasive species
(i.e.: a student who completed their final project on the lamprey will
find the other students that also studied the lamprey). They will
then, as a group, discuss what they discovered about the animal and decide
what a possible, realistic solution to the problem could be. Students
may then, individually, make posters representing the decision that was
made as a group.
Adaptations:
-
Students will
choose one of the three invasive species, sea lamprey, zebra mussel or
the Crown of Thorn starfish and research the listed resources. Students
will record information into their notebooks ( teacher will have discussed
with them what 'important' information to record) and make an Inspiration
concept map. They may also draw a picture of their chosen animal as a visual
aid to their map.
