a folder to store your work.

to download a 'pros and cons' worksheet. Print out three
copies of this worksheet.

You
are going to use Internet resources to investigate the 'pros and cons'
of three invasive species: the lamprey, the crown- of-thorns starfish and
the zebra mussel.

Using
the internet as a resource, search for the 'pros and cons' of each invasive
species. (When identifying 'pros and cons' be sure to consider how
each invasive species affects its surrounding environment, other species
and humans.) Click here to find resources.

Record
at least 5 pros and 5 cons for each invasive species on your worksheets.

Go
to Evaluation. Look at "Webquest"
to make sure you meet the expectations when filling out the worksheet.

3.
Create a
Concept
Map

Review
your 'pros and cons' worksheets and identify which invasive species you
think is the most destructive.

You
are going to create a concept map which shows the relationships between
the invasive species that you have chosen and the environment, other species
and humans. Click here to see an example of

Save
your completed concept map in your folder.

Go
to Evaluation. Look at
"Concept Map" to make sure your map meets all of the criteria.

R-A-F-T-S

the information you gathered in your concept map you will use the R-A-F-T-S
strategy to present your information in written format.

Choose
your role, audience, format and verb and fill in the blanks on the template
that you have just printed.

Using
the format you have selected for your R-A-F-T-S assignment open word
and complete your personal written project.

Save
your completed written project in your folder.

to see the criteria for your written project.

Evaluation

Presentation

your completed written product to the class. The presentation will
include a question and answer period so be prepared to answer questions
from your teacher and your classmates.
