Introduction
Your expertise is needed immediately in the Galapagos Islands, an archipelago* 600 miles from the mainland of Ecuador.
The Galapagos Islands have a fragile ecosystem* and the animals there are in danger of extinction.

The government of Ecuador has hired your team of experts to evaluate the conditions on the islands and determine a plan to protect the wildlife while keeping the local communities satisfied.

Conclusion

Conservation in the Galapagos is important because of the global
implications - learning to conserve the environment in such a place
can help us understand conservation in other endangered areas in
the world.  This webquest has only touched the tip of the iceberg
in terms of all the available information on conservation, environmental
                issues, and the Galapagos Islands.

By completing this webquest, you should have achieved the following goals:
                1. developed an interest in the Galapagos Islands
                2. developed an awareness of environmental issues in the Galapagos Islands
                3. understood what is meant by the term "eco-tourism" and realized that,
as a traveller, you have an impact on the world
                4. worked cooperatively as a team
                5. formed an action plan for conservation in the Galapagos

I hope that one day, you will be able to see
the Galapagos Islands and appreciate
their unique beauty as much as I have.
