| 1. Research | To decide on the award winner, go to all the sites on the resources page. While you are finding out about each person at the websites, you will do part 2a and 2b at the same time. |
| 2a. Answer Questions | On the resource page there are some questions you must answer as part of your decision on who to give the award. |
| 2b. Record Information on a
Graphic Organizer |
You will want to record your information that you find from the sites you visit onto a graphic organizer. You will refer to this information later to help you make a good decision on who the winner is. You will create your own graphic organizer based on the demonstration on the resource page. |
| 3. Create a criteria sheet | On the resources page there are criteria that you must consider in your choice of the winner. You also need to come up with three of your own criteria to base your decision on. It would be logical to base your criteria on the information you found answering the questions and creating your graphic organizer.Your criteria should meet the expectations for good criteria. Your criteria sheet should be based on the questions you answer and your graphic organizer. |
| 4. Present the Award | When you present the award, you need to:
1. briefly introduce the person you are giving the award to.Tell about their life, where they are from, their family. 2. explain why you picked the award winner based on your criteria. This is the important part. The audience should really be able to see why you picked the person to win. 3. and the winner is.... finally, tell us who the winner is. |
