Process
There are
seven steps to follow when planning and presenting the ULTIMATE vacation for
four in Germany.
|
Step
1:
form
a group and choose your vacation role

|
-The
first step is to form a four member group and pick a role. -Each group member
that is going on the vacation has
different interests.
-Group member one
- enjoys history and historic art.
-Group member two-enjoys
modern art and the theatre.
-Group member three-enjoys
fashion and cultural events.
-Group member four-
enjoys the environment and outdoor recreation.
-All group members enjoy
eating, visiting museums and are not particular about accommodation.
-The financial budget
for this trip is unlimited.
-The group of four needs
to create a folder on a disk. -The
disk will be turned in after each step in the Process. -The
group should create a back-up copy of their work. |
|
Step 2:
Language
Practice |
-Prior
to planning the ultimate vacation the group needs to practice the German language. -Your
group needs to practice the German language by going to the Quia webpage
listed in the next point.
-Select German under
subject categories
and practice playing the four games under the headings: "conjunctions"
and "vocabulary". After playing these games you may choose two more games
to play under other headings.

-When the group has finished practicing
knowledge of the German language
create a table in a word or works word processing document and record the
groups results in German.
-Save this information
to the group disk.
-Hand in the group disk to
the teacher for evaluation. |
|
Step3:
Destination
Selection
|
-There are only 10 days for the vacation
so the group can only visit four German
cities that accommodate the needs of all the members.
-Select four
destinations from the following list: Munich,
Berlin, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Cologne, Dresden, Dusseldorf,
Hannover and Stuttgart.
-The
resource
section under the headings: Maps and
Visitors and Activity Guides will help you select four destinations
and places to stay. Remember that you only have ten days and that each group
member has different vacation needs.
-In
the next step, step 4, you will select specific activities to do in each
city that will accommodate all group members. However, in this step, the
group will have to give a brief reason why they have selected specific
cities and how long they will stay in a specific city.
-In
a word or works document create a table and list the four cities that the
group has selected, how long the group will stay and why the group
is visiting that specific city.
-The
group response
to this step must be in the German language.
-Save
this information to the group disk.
-Hand
in the group disk to the teacher for evaluation. |
|
Step 4:
Brainstorming vacation
activities |
-Now
that the group has selected four destinations and given a brief reason why
the group will visit a specific city, it is time to decide
what specific activities each member will do in each city.
-Remember the various
and same interests of each group member.
-The Group response
during this step should also be in the German language.
-In
"Inspiration" or some other similar brainstorming program, that
is available to you, the group is to brainstorm some ultimate
activities to do in each city. Print out your brainstorming
activity.
-Need activity
Ideas? the resource
section can help!
-When the group
has finished brainstorming a variety of activities, go to the group table that lists
the German destinations and transfer the activities from the brainstorming
activity to correspond with the destinations and group members.
-Save your printed
brainstorming worksheet and computer generated information to the group
disk.
-Hand in the group disk and
your brainstorming page to the teacher for evaluation. |
|
Step 5:
photos
|
-Now
that the group has selected four destinations and specific member activities
its time to take some photos!!!
-Need help with photos
of destinations and activities? The resource
section can help! to search for photos just type in the word
Germany in the search box.
-Create a photo folder and
save the groups vacation photos.
-Title your photos using
the German language.
-Save this information
to the Group Disk.
-Hand in the group disk to
the teacher for evaluation. |
|
Step
6:
Power
Point
presentation
|
-It
is now time for the group to create a visual presentation of the ULTIMATE
German vacation for four! -Take all of your
information from the group disk and create a MS PowerPoint visual
presentation. -Your
response to this step must be in the German Language. |
|
Step
7:
Class
Presentation |
-Now that
the group has created a Power Point presentation of the groups vacation it is now time to make a
presentation to your German 11 class.
-The group response to this step should be in the German Language.
