BC is committed to making its tourism industry sustainable and has the potential to position itself as Canada’s industry leader. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to learn from those already leading the way and then build on their successes. Sustainability is especially important to those in rural BC since tourism products often rely on sensitive natural and cultural resources. By identifying and showcasing these rural innovators, the industry will be in a stronger position to provide visitors with sustainable tourism experiences throughout the province.
