Conference Program

 

Session Notes:

  1. Plenary Talks run 50 minutes, including questions and discussion.
  2. Paper Sessions are comprised of up to 4 papers, each allotted 25 minutes for both presentation and following questions/discussion.
  3. Panels are comprised of up to 4 ten-minute presentations, with the remaining time devoted to seminar-style discussion.
  4. Poster presenters are scheduled (as below) to be available for consultation at their display during one specific session break, though the displays will be available for viewing from the beginning of the conference.

Conference Venues:

  1. Liberal Studies, Project Room (355/211): Registration, poster sessions, panel sessions, breaks, and closing reception.
  2. Ralph Gustafson Theatre (355/203): All paper sessions.
  3. Coast Bastion Inn (15th Floor Hospitality Suite): Welcome reception, Thursday evening.
  4. Lunch Area (Liberal Studies 355/108&109): Friday and Saturday lunch tables and seating area.
  5. Page Point Inn:  Friday reception and banquet.  (Those who have purchased banquet tickets will be transported to and from the Page Point Inn by bus.)

Several outings are being arranged, for those who wish.  Local possibilities include the following:

  • a guided sea-kayaking tour of local gulf islands;
  • a guided walking tour of Newcastle Island in the Nanaimo harbour;
  •  a tour of and beer tasting at the Longwood Brewpub.
