SEEDS: Interacting with othersThe Internet isn't a one-way communication system. You can send electronic mail messages to individuals, a distribution list, or to a listserver which will redistribute your message to others (and all too often allow others to redistibute their junk mail to you!). Other forums for interchange of ideas are bulletin boards and usegroups (which are often too public), or embedded chat systems such as HyperNews which allow users to look at a common document and then exchange their questions and comments. The SEEDS site provides a HyperNews forum in all five major sections, and we encourage you to use them to help build our community of on-line educators. HyperNews was selected because it is relatively easy to use, allows the inclusion of Internet links in the comments, and was free. One particularly nice feature is that HyperNews will e-mail you a copy of any comments you post and any comments which are posted in response to your comments. This helps the conversation to continue after you leave the SEEDS site. Please remember to be constructive in your comments. Do not post anything you might not be proud of 2 seconds after sending the note! Click here if you would like to see the SEEDS forum on:
