Picture of me

Last revised on 10/03/03

This picture has a place of honour on this page because it was the first multimedia email message I received. The picture was recorded on video during a SCOET meeting, by Mike Quinlan who then digitized it on a computer, superimposed it on a Mosaic (shows you how old the picture is) WEB page, added transparency to part of the background, made into a GIF file and emailed to me as an attachment.

I changed the format of this page to a date format, as an attempt to deal with broken links ( the further down the page, the more dead links there are) and it's slowly becoming more of a repository for my activities than pointers to resources.

Ever since Plato and the book, we've been intrigued by the use of media in teaching and learning. We've followed its' promise, we've lamented its failure, we've revised how we look at it and we've rethought how we use it. It's time to look at the big picture and review the history and philosophy surrounding media and learning to figure out where we should be going.
