Transportation
  • Getting to Nanaimo by Air
    • Air Canada flies to the Nanaimo AirportN.B.  In foggy weather, planes often can't land at the Nanaimo Airport.  If this is the case with your flight, you may be flown to Victoria Airport and bussed to Nanaimo.
    • WestJet flies to the Comox and Victoria airports on Vancouver Island.
    • There are several float plane companies flying into the Nanaimo harbour:
      • Harbour Air and West Coast Air fly from downtown Vancouver to downtown Nanaimo, or from Richmond (Vancouver International Airport) to downtown Nanaimo.  
      • Seair flies from the Vancouver International Airport to Nanaimo 10 times daily.
  • Getting to Nanaimo by Ferry
  • Getting to Nanaimo by Bus
  • Getting from downtown Nanaimo to Malaspina:
    • Walk: a 30-45 minute walk from downtown Nanaimo to Malaspina University-College (with hills),

    • Bus: see the Nanaimo Regional Transit System maps & schedules.  Bus numbers 44, 5 and 6 go from downtown to Malaspina.
