My research experiences are closely integrated into my teaching in the Biology department. I am involved in teaching 4 courses each year. I co-teach introductory zoology with Jane Watson and teach advanced courses in invertebrate zoology, parasitology ,entomology and evolution. I am also involved in team teaching an intensive summer field course in Marine Parasite Ecology at the Bamfield Marine Station with John Holmes and Cam Goater.
I have also developed an interest in using the latest in multimedia computer technology as a supplementary learning resource for students in my parasitology course. I have compiled a CD-ROM entitled Marine Parasitic Crustaceans, which presents the fascinating world of parasites in a unique and interactive manner by incorporating video clips of living parasites, sound recordings and photographs with in-depth text descriptions of parasite adaptations.
