GEOL-390 Rocky Mountain Field Trip

 

Student expectations

 

Students registered in GEOL-390 are expected to do the following:

 

1) Attend two classroom sessions (~3 hours each) prior to the trip (probably between the 14th and 18th of August).  The objective will be to explore and discuss the geology and tectonic framework of southern BC. (20%)

 

2) Keep a field journal, and make notes at every stop. (30%)

 

3) Research a topic relevant to one of our stops and make a presentation (15-20 minutes) either in the field at the relevant stop, or that evening. (20%) (Click here to see a list of possible topics)

 

4) Prepare a report, on a topic that we will agree on, to be handed in within two weeks of our return. (30%)
