GEOL-390 Rocky Mountain Field Trip

Student expectations

Students registered in GEOL-390 are expected to do the following:

1) Attend two classroom sessions (~3 hours each) prior to the trip (probably between the 14^th and 18^th of August).  The objective will be to explore and discuss the geology and tectonic framework of southern BC. (20%)

2) Keep a field journal, and make notes at every stop. (30%)

3) Research a topic relevant to one of our stops and make a presentation (15-20 minutes) either in the field at the relevant stop, or that evening. (20%) (Click here to see a list of possible topics)

4) Prepare a report, on a topic that we will agree on, to be handed in within two weeks of our return. (30%)
