
Ron is in his 4th year at Malaspina,
majoring in Psychology.
His areas of interest include nueropsychology, adolescent development,
and
Divorce. He plans to enter the field of family justice or family
counselling.
Breanne is in her fourth year of her Psychology major at
Malaspina. Her research interests include cognitive rehabilitation
in individuals with traumatic brain injuries and divorce within the
community. She intends on continuing her studies in occupational
therapy.
Monica is a fourth year
student majoring in psychology. Her research interests include
divorce and depression. She hopes to attend law school after she
completes her degree with a focus on family law.
The Community Lab is a research branch of the psychology department at Malaspina University College in connection with community organizations allowing students to experience the full spectrum of research methodology. At present, the lab is working with The Nanaimo Men's Resource Centre studying the effects of divorce in relation to depression and potential suicide. Three studies are in process at this time: Lawyer study, divorce and depression study, and the parental alienation survey.

Parental Alienation Survey lab is studying the cumulative effects of parents denied access to their children, their community and their ability to get a fair hearing from the judicial/social system.
The Nanaimo Men's Resource Centre (NMRC) is a local organization geared toward providing men with counselling and life skills.
