 Transportation

Welcome to CCLR 11 transportation links.  Nanaimo is located on beautiful Vancouver Island on the West Coast of BC.  Being an island, there are a number of interesting and scenic transportation alternatives available to you.

The easiest and most direct way to arrive at CCLR 11 is to fly direct into the Nanaimo/Cassidy Airport, serviced by Air Canada, and take the shuttle (see Motorcoach/Shuttle Link for arrangements and email nanaimoairportshuttleservice@shaw.ca) to downtown Nanaimo or Malaspina University College Campus.

HARBOURLYNX foot passenger ferry service Downtown Vancouver to Downtown Nanaimo offer:   20% DISCOUNT TO DELEGATES:  PROOF OF CONFERENCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED

From Vancouver Airport: At the luggage pick-up there is a Airporter Bus Shuttle that will take you to the Pan Pacific at Canada Place. This is located right next to Harbourlynx - so the walk is about a block and a half. The cost for the airporter is $12 per person and takes approx. 40 min.

From the HarbourLynx terminal to the Vancouver Airport: There is a Shuttle service that meets each of Harbourlynx's sailings - City Centre Shuttle - He will take you directly to the airport for $13 per person, again the ride is approx. 40 min. He can be contacted at 604-729-2552.

We are offering to your delegates a 20% discount. $40 for the round trip or $20 for one way plus GST.

Nanaimo is linked to the mainland by two major BC Ferry routes; Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay and Tsawwassen to the new Duke Point Terminal, just south of Nanaimo. Also if you are traveling as a foot passenger, ground transportation is available.

Another way to get to the island if you are traveling by foot is the new harbour to harbour high speed HarbourLynx ferry service.

You can catch a bus to Nanaimo from downtown Vancouver, or take a ride up island on regular schedules from Victoria to Port Hardy, and most locations in between.

By air, there are many regular flights departing and arriving at the Nanaimo/Cassidy Airport, located 15 kilometers (9 miles) south of town in Cassidy. In addition to direct access by major airlines, you can arrive via harbour to harbour floatplane service, or Vancouver Airport to harbour.

For your convenience, we have arranged transportation to CCLR 11 by mode.  Travel planning sites are also available through BC Ferries and British Columbia.com.
